Growing up in Bozeman, Montana, Matt experienced the redeeming and transforming power of Jesus during his freshman year at Montana State University, while playing football. Though he was pursuing a career in civil engineering, God began to give him a passion for people to become disciples of Jesus. Since then, Matt has been in various ministry capacities. From starting a high school youth group during the college years, to eventually being ordained as the Pastor of College Ministries at Grace Bible Church near the end of 2015. In 2020, the Thibault (tee-bow) family transitioned to Grace Church of the Valley in the Central Valley of California to serve as the Discipleship Pastor. While there, he finished his Masters in Divinity from The Master’s Seminary and started a Doctorate in Ministry in Executive Leadership from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In 2022, the Lord called the Thibaults to plant a church in San Diego. After training in church planting with Vintage Mission at Christ Church in Phoenix, they relocated to San Diego in June 2022 to establish a new gospel outpost. Since then, God has moved in power to establish Doxa Church as a people committed to the mission of making disciples for the glory of God.

Beyond these, Matt loves his wife Trina and loves to spend time with her. Together, they cherish their three kids: Adelyn, James, and Alivia. As a family, they love to explore the trails and beaches of San Diego, visit the zoo and SeaWorld, and have in-home pizza and movie night at the Thibault house.
