Growing up in Bozeman, Montana, the Lord Jesus redeemed and transformed Matt’s life entering his freshman year of college while playing football at Montana State University. Though he was pursuing a career in civil engineering, God began to give him a passion for people to become disciples of Jesus. Since then, Matt has been in various ministry capacities, from starting a high school youth group during the college years to eventually being ordained as the Pastor of College Ministries at Grace Bible Church near the end of 2015. In 2020, the Thibault (tee-bow) family transitioned to Grace Church of the Valley in the Central Valley of California to serve as the Discipleship Pastor. While there, he finished his Masters in Divinity from The Master’s Seminary and started a Doctorate in Ministry in Executive Leadership from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Then in 2022, the Lord called the Thibaults to plant a church in San Diego. After moving to Phoenix to be trained in church planting by Vintage Mission at Christ Church, in June of 2022 they moved to San Diego to establish a new gospel outpost there. Since then, God has moved in power to establish Doxa Church as a people committed to the mission of making disciples for the glory of God.
Beyond these, Matt loves his wife Trina and loves to spend time with her. Together, they cherish their three kids: Adelyn (8), James (6), and Alivia (4). As a family, they love to explore the trails and beaches of San Diego, visit the zoo and SeaWorld, and have in-home pizza and movie night at the Thibault house.
